| If you want to move all your great old LP tracks to your media player or mp3, USB turntables will allow you to do that, and more. Read on to learn how.
Take your collection of LPs (you know, these pre-historic vinyls...?? OK, let me spell it out: the black flat round disks that you can play music from... you can also take your 45s (smaller two track vinyls). If they are sitting in boxes in your basement, get them out now. It is time to digitize them using a USB turntable. Converting old-fashioned records to MP3 formats can easily be done with the right turntable. You will find adequate USB turntables for sale right here. Just have a look and tell me they are not affordable... yes, they can be bought cheap here... and brand new. There are essentially 2 things you can do: get your music from the 33s (or other format) albums to your media or MP3 player, and you can also convert the analog signal from these albums to digital. The resulting digital signal can then be edited, burned to CD or... To digitize the signal, i.e. transform the analog you need another working turntable, but to simply get your LP records on your media player this is NOT needed, the USB turntable will be all you need. Most USB turntables include cables and circuitry to connect to and digitize music from other audio sources, such as tape recorders and decks. A lot of them have analog outputs in order for you to plug them into an old stereo and use them like any other turntable. They would typically include digitization / editing software. Some few USB turntables can directly record to media cards, flash drives, CDs or iPods, like the Numark TTi USB turntable. Finally, you would use your computer to add what they call metadata to add titles, authors, ...etc to your music files, after the recording has been done. You will find that common retailer / list prices for USB turntables are in the $120 to $500 range, with street prices somewhat less. If you are in doubt, compare the prices featured here to what you find at local retailers: you find that the turntables found on our site can be purchased at hard to beat prices. |
